Yehovah God directed Aaron and his sons (through Moses) to impart blessings to the children of Israel. “The Lord bless you and keep you; The Lord make His face shine upon you, And be gracious to you; The Lord lift up His countenance upon you, And give you Shalom (peace). So they shall put My name on the children of Israel, and I will bless them”.
