How To Be A Righteous Leader Over Others

HE EXECUTED JUSTICE AND RIGHTEOUSNESS UNTO ALL HIS PEOPLE King David’s rule over Israel is de ned by justice and righteousness. As emphasized by the prophets, executing justice and righteousness is the charge for the Hebrew Israelite people and their leaders in the Land of Israel and in the exile (see for example Ezekiel 45:9). In this sense, King David was an ideal king. While he did conduct a number of wars, his reign is not violence but justice. He was a just king, providing a model for all to follow. Following in King David’s path is what will bring the ultimate redemption, as it says in  Isaiah “Zion shall be redeemed with justice, and they that return of her with righteousness”.
