On Sunday August 16, 2015 the new moon of the 6th Hebrew Month Elul was sighted from Israel. The photo of today’s new moon at the side of this message was taken by Yoel Halevi of Hebrew in Israel from Kiryat Ata.

The next sighting on September 14, 2015 for Yom Teruah (Blowing of Trumpets) will be a difficult one. It is uncertain whether the moon will be visible that night. I will explain more in an upcoming message.
