Blessings for Peace, Rest & Patience
Peace I leave with you; My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Do not let your heart be troubled, nor let it be fearful. ~ John 14:27 (NASB) ~
There remains then a Sabbath-rest for the people of God.~ Hebrews 4:9 (NIV) ~
God Himself rested after the six days of creation. He
established the pattern for what He formally instituted
as the Sabbath (“Shabbat” in Hebrew) in the book of
Exodus. The Yehovah wants us to rest and He wants us to rest in Him. Yeshua is the Prince of Peace; the Author of Peace. Peace and patience are fruit of the spirit (Gal. 5:22), meaning we innately possess them as believers. Our challenge is to walk in them. As we discipline ourselves to follow Yehovah’s ways and allow Him to bestow His benefits upon us, we become less affected by our circumstances. We may find ourselves in the midst of tribulation, but we can still know peace because the God of the universe is working on our behalf. The Yehovah will give us patience as we wait on Him to fulfill His eternal plan.
- It was a night of watching unto the Yehovah for bringing them out from the land of Egypt; this same night is a night of watching unto the LORD for all the children of Israel throughout their generations. (Exod. 12:42, JPS).
- Yehovah bless thee and keep thee; Yehovah
make His face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto
thee; Yehovah lift up His countenance upon thee,
and give you peace (Num. 6:24-26, JPS). - May God make you as surefooted as a deer, leading
you safely along the mountain heights (2 Sam. 22:34 & Ps. 18:33, NLT). - Peace, peace to you, and peace to him who helps you; indeed, your God helps you (1 Chron. 12:18, NASB).
- May you be a man / woman of rest (1 Chron. 22:9b,
KJV). - May you be full of joy as you covenant, with all your
heart and with all your being, to put to death those
behaviors, thoughts, and attitudes in your life that refuse to seek the Yehovah God. May you be full of joy because of this oath you make with all your heart and because you seek Him with all your will; you will find Him and He will give you rest all around (2 Chron. 15:12-13, 15, CJB). - May you be confident because there is hope in the
Yehovah. May you look around yourself and lie down in security because the Lord is your protector. May you rest because no one can make you afraid (Job 11:18-19a, CJB).
